We are grateful for any contributions that will help us rebuild our church! How can I help

United we shall rebuild...

Written by Josephine Minas

I greet you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I am sure that you are all encouraged as I am at the wonderful vision of Our New Church Building. It is a blessing that the Lord has continued to bless our church community in many ways, and for that I praise God for His goodness.

I am excited at yet another wonderful opportunity to be a part of a family, a church, and an environment that brings Hope for our current and future generation. On Sunday November 20th, 2011, we will all have the opportunity to fulfill an integral role in the rebuilding of our church. I invite you to be part of sponsoring various items that will be used in the Church’s sacraments.  This is an opportunity to leave a lasting memory with your individual name, family name, or children’s names engraved on items that will be used for God’s glory. What a legacy that will be for you and your family. Future generations will look back and know that it is because of you that they are able to have a place to worship, that it is because of you that they have a place to baptize their children, that it is because of you that they have a place to marry and be married. What a legacy indeed and what a blessed way to be remembered.

This event will provide an opportunity for you to sponsor items for the new church.  Can you imagine your grand daughter or grand son sitting on the very seat that you choose to sponsor? What great fortune to be apart of! As you select your items, focus on how good God has been to you. Focus not on what you are giving, but on how much more God continues to bless you with, how much more God continues to allow us to enjoy.  I encourage you to join me in stepping up and owning the responsibility that the Lord has given us. The responsibility of building our church, of furnishing our church, and of creating a sanctuary worthy of the blessings God has bestowed on us all.

Before you make a selection of an item, close your eyes and think of the most beautiful church you have ever been in. How did it make you feel to be surrounded with such beauty in the House of the Lord? You now have a great chance in making the House of Lord – our church – a beautiful place of worship. You are invited to be part of the design team for the new church. I am encouraged by King David when he was buying material to build the Temple of the Lord, he said to Araunah in 1 Chronicles 21:24, "No, I insist on paying the full price. I will not take for the LORD what is yours, or sacrifice a burnt offering that costs me nothing." I urge you to give from your heart, to give from your abundance, and to give sacrificially. The timing is critical and the window is small. God has blessed us with a tremendous opportunity, and we need to act on it now.

Your donation will result in the restoration of our vibrant and active church family, revive services provided to the community like Holy Communion, Baptism, Marriage, Youth activities; as well as help us build a better bridge to our community. We bring people not to a building, but to Jesus Christ. My hope is to leave behind more than a nice building. My hope is to leave behind a legacy that makes people say, “Surely, those people knew Jesus Christ!” Thank you again for your continued and much needed support!

‘The silver is Mine and the gold is Mine,' declares the LORD of hosts. ‘The latter glory of this house will be greater than the former,’ says the LORD of hosts, 'and in this place I will give peace,' declares the LORD of hosts."  Haggai 2:8-9

Fall Message

Written by Josephine Minas

Colossians 3:15-17
And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
The fall season denotes the wonderful ways in which God renews the earth. It is a time of acknowledging the old, while at the same time preparing for the coming future. Amidst our reflection of “what was” and “what will be” we often forget to BE STILL in the present moment. We sometimes forget to take time to thank God for His daily provisions in our lives. When was the last time you stopped, breathed in, and truly thanked God for giving you that breathe? Being alive is not a right. Being alive is a privilege that God has given us. Let us all stop and thank God for life.

We are currently living in a climate that is focused on the things in our lives that are not going right. Such a perspective can be very discouraging. The word of God however, encourages us to focus on the Power, the Deity, and the Provision of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We are recommended in Psalm 105 to count our blessings and to name them one by one; then we will surely be surprised at what the Lord has done.

In this fall season, we can make a choice to have an attitude of gratitude. We can choose to thank God for what we have, but most importantly, for whom God is. In this fall season, I invite you to join me in offering thanksgiving to God, in advance, for what He is going to do and for the prayers yet to be answered in all our lives. As Ephesians 5:20 states, “Give thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
